Recent developments indicate that, by early 2026, sixteen major pharmaceutical companies secured a three-year exemption from 100% tariffs on imported, branded, or patented drugs in exchange for commitments related to increasing domestic manufacturing and adopting most favored nation (MFN) pricing – aligning U.S. drug costs with lower international prices.
